RAG (Raising and Giving):

The month kicked off with some good news from RAG. For the first time, the UWE RAG team raised £91,818 for local and international charities. A massive thank you goes to the students, staff, societies and sports clubs that make this possible every year.

Sustainability training:

The Presidents and some of The Students' Union Staff attended a training day led by a sustainability representative from NUS. The training was very insightful, and I left so much more aware of sustainability, and possible ways of linking some of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) with my manifesto points.

RAG Away Day:

During the day we visited Off-The-Record, which is one of the many charities that UWE RAG works with. It was interesting to learn about the positive impact Off-The-Record has on UWE Bristol students.

It was also enlightening to hear about all of the charities that UWE RAG raises money for. I learned about the ways that I could get involved with RAG and how I could potentially lead on some of the fundraising. Fingers crossed, this year we will beat the fundraising record so that we can support even more wonderful causes.

Clearing Day:

Once again, I would like to say a massive congratulations to all of the new students starting UWE Bristol this month, I wish you the very best university experience!

Sabbatical Officers Networking Event at the University of Bristol:

It was great to visit The SU at the University of Bristol and to meet other officers from around the country - it certainly inspired me! The networking event was an opportunity to discover more about Brexit and its potential impact on home and international students.

Nap pods:

Over the past few weeks, I have been writing a proposal to UWE Bristol, detailing why they should invest in nap pods. I am in the final stage of my research and to make it even more solid myself and Precious travelled to the University of Manchester to test one out for ourselves.
