Students Organising for Sustainability are launching an exciting opportunity to become an auditor and contribute to “Homes Fit For Study” campaign which aims to alleviate exposure to fuel poverty through audits and energy advice.

If you think you have what it takes you could become a Student Housing Energy Auditor! Students Organising for Sustainability are launching an exciting opportunity to become an auditor and contribute to “Homes Fit For Study” campaign which aims to alleviate exposure to fuel poverty through audits and energy advice.
“The latest NUS research identifies that students are most vulnerable consumers due to a) living in poor quality housing b) lack of experience of the energy market c) low incomes. Through Homes Fit For Study, students’ energy literacy will be improved by targeting action on energy efficiency behaviours, choosing energy efficient properties, improving their home efficiency and thermal comfort, and navigating the energy market.”
The support offered through this campaign will equip you with the know-how and skills to make informed decisions about properties that you rent, how you can reduce your energy costs and help alleviate fuel poverty whilst telling your EPC’s from your LEDs!
Once you complete training, you will be supported to conduct home energy audits of your own, for everyone that you complete, you will be awarded a £15 bursary. This is fantastic opportunity to gain employability skills in sustainability and make real changes in student housing!
