Are you money savvy? Don't worry if not, because UWE Bristol offers a literally award-winning module where you can develop essential money skills and get confident about your finances. We won the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA) Financial Capability Engagement Award in June 2018 for our work on this educational programme. Ultimately, working through this module gives you the essential skills to flourish both at University and in life after graduation.

The Financial Capability module blends the practical with the theoretical to help you understand financial management and financial products. The FC module is part of the UWE Bristol Futures Award and all UWE Bristol students are welcome to attend.

This module takes place on three consecutive Wednesday afternoons on Frenchay Campus. Each workshop finishes with a quiz and the opportunity to win prizes (how exciting!). We provide biscuits, chocolate and a friendly atmosphere, where you can learn and meet other students. Think of it as a social opportunity where you can learn how to properly manage your finances.

The first workshop: an external speaker, plus the chance to win £100

The first workshop includes a guest speaker from an award-winning financial service company, Hargreaves Lansdown. Joseph Sykes, who works as a Workplace Savings Specialist, will take a look at the basics of investing, saving towards a property and how to budget for life after University. There will be a chance to win a £100 Amazon voucher.
