Can I purchase a ticket on the door?
Tickets will be available on the door if they have not already sold out. Some tickets will have an increased price on the door. Please arrive in good time to be let in before last entry. Some events are first come, first serve and will be subject to capacity.
Where do I collect my wristband?
Wristbands will be available for collection from the ticket office at Frenchay campus. Opening times for the ticket office will be communicated nearer to Welcome.
How long is my ticket valid for on the night?
Your ticket is valid up until last entry. Last entry varies for each individual event. Please see ‘here’ for full info.
I have a wristband. Can I jump the queue?
Wristbands allow queue jump for paid events, subject to capacity.
Do I need tickets for free events?
No, none of our free events are ticketed, however we suggest to arrive as early as possible to avoid long queues and disappointment if the event reaches capacity.
Do I need to bring ID?
Yes. All our night time events are strictly 18+. Please bring valid ID: only drivers’ licences, Prove It cards or passports will be accepted. We do not accept photocopies of ID or photographs of ID as valid proof of age.
What’s the lineup?
Keep an eye on social media and the Welcome website for all updates.
What about other (non-official) Freshers’ events?
We understand that it can be confusing in the run up to Welcome Week as Bristol is saturated with many different events claiming to be ‘Official’ Freshers’ events. Our official Welcome Programme will be stamped with our logo and have events that take place at The Students’ Union. The official Welcome Week is run by The Students’ Union at UWE, which is a non-profit organisation. We ensure value for money is delivered at every Welcome event - not just another club night.
While some non-official events will surely be enjoyable, please take care when buying tickets to avoid disappointment.
If you are unsure please contact us via suevents@uwe.ac.uk or on our Facebook page The Students’ Union Bars at UWE.
I’m not a UWE student, can I still come?
Tickets will only be available to UWE Bristol students, but you can come as long as your friend who is a UWE Bristol student gets your ticket. Students are limited to two non-UWE Bristol guests and will be responsible for their actions while at Welcome events.
What if I don’t get into UWE?
You can apply for a refund if you do not get a place or are no longer coming to UWE Bristol. Email suevents@uwe.ac.uk with confirmation and we will process your refund. Please note: booking fees are non-refundable.
I don’t want the ticket anymore, can I get a refund?
We don’t offer refunds; however we do now have a Transfer Feature through our ticket partner Fixr. You can find the option to transfer tickets under your ‘My Tickets’ section. Remember, you can only transfer tickets to other UWE Bristol students. If you are purchasing a ticket or wristband from someone else please ensure they are using the Transfer Feature to avoid scams or being charged too much.
What if the events can’t go ahead on the planned dates due to COVID restrictions?
All events will only take place upon the lifting of the Government’s Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions. Wristbands will be valid for any re-arranged dates that may be necessary if restrictions have not been lifted.
My question isn’t listed here.
