Glenside campus should have a gym | The Students' Union at UWE

As healthcare students we promote a healthy lifestyle, we should be able to practice what we encourage.

There are a huge number of students who not only study here but live both at Glenside and at the Hollies with no access to exercise facilities.

Actions Taken

This Idea opened on 26th February 2018 and closed for voting on 19th march 2018.
This Idea has conditionally passed. Work will start on this Idea unless it is vetoed by 50%+1 of the Student Council Meeting. Click here for more info
Student Council agreed to pass this Idea. This Idea is now Students’ Union policy and has been sent to The Executive for work to begin.
April 2021: The University has expressed support for this initiative and the Students' Union is continuing to lobby to make this a reality.

Bethan Jones: 12:25pm on 19 Mar 18 Absolutely - Glenside is persistently neglected and the wellbeing of students based there (as well as their sense of a UWE community) would be greatly improved with a campus. How ridiculous that Frenchay has 2 gyms and there isn't even a small provision for indoor exercise at Glenside.

Chantelle Thomas: 2:21pm on 7 Mar 18 I currently use the Exercise4Less gym which is very cheap- but is also busy and hasn't got a lot of classes. So a facility on campus with classes or better equipped would be useful
